They just keep coming!

In January, it was a joy for the SGA team to welcome the 26 new students who make up the 15th student group in Moldova.
Many people with a variety of skills and experience are needed to complete the task of spreading the Gospel among the nations. SGA Mission Schools play a major part in this task, bringing together gifted men and women from a wide range of backgrounds, to train them for the work of ministry and the consolidation of the witness of the churches of Christ.

When nearing a mission school graduation the following question has often been asked by SGA staff members about the situation in Moldova:

‘Will there be another student group to start in Balti Mission School?’

Praise God that over the years He has continued to provide students: ‘They just keep coming’.

In January, it was a joy for the SGA team to welcome the 26 new students who make up the 15th student group in Moldova. Added to the 26 registered students are 2 others who want to sit in on the lectures. The group is diverse with 6 pastors, several preachers and others who desire to start preaching, and 2 ladies who are involved in children’s evangelism.

There is an urgent and acute need for a new generation of preachers in Moldova. Peter Mihalchiuk, SGA’s regional Coordinator and director of the Mission School explained this.

‘In Moldova we are at the point where the generations are changing in ministry. We used to have spiritually strong leaders who started their ministry during the Soviet Union. Unfortunately, many of them have passed away and they have passed their ministry to us.’

Together, students learn and grow, developing their knowledge of God’s Word and their ability to teach it to others. Much remains to be done and with the prayerful support and intercession of SGA’s partners, we believe that God will lead us on to see more churches planted, to see them grow and mature, and then from a firmly consolidated base, reach out further into God’s harvest field.
