Of SGA’s four core ministries, the Leadership Support Programme receives the greatest proportion of our funding.

It may come as something of a surprise to realise that our Lord Jesus needed and appreciated daily support from His followers as He fulfilled His ministry.

Odessa Theological Seminary (OTS) in Ukraine has not lost its vision despite recent years of war. Their motto is “Educating those who are called”, and it is a work they continue today even in the face of great hardship.

The church in Mongolia has experienced encouraging growth in recent years. Alongside this growth however comes a pressing need: the training of men to faithfully preach the Word of God. As the late Martyn Lloyd-Jones once said, “The most urgent need in the Christian Church today is true preaching.” In many ways that statement reflects the situation facing churches across Mongolia.

SGA’s support of camp ministry stretches back many years, and continues to increase, as churches across Eastern Europe and Central Asia recognise the importance of reaching the younger generation with the message of salvation, and how through this ministry there is a wider Gospel work being accomplished.

Almaty Bible Institute (ABI) in Kazakhstan has been training and preparing students for Gospel ministry for over thirty years. This year has seen the highest ever intake of students, with 110 enrolled in the programmes, creating an urgent need for additional staff. SGA is expanding its partnership with ABI, through the sponsorship of two new part-time members of staff.

For many years Bible knowledge and Christian training have been facilitated through the ‘Independent Bible Correspondence School’ across the vast and spiritually difficult regions of Central Asia. However, with its new name ‘Resources for Ministry’ there comes an exciting expansion and development.

Earlier this year 26 students gathered to begin their studies at the Mission School in Bălți, Moldova. Each of them has enrolled with a clear purpose to be better equipped for faithful, Christ-centred ministry.

Leadership training has always been central to the growth and health of the Church. Nowhere is this more evident than in the ministry of Slavic Gospel Association (SGA), whose commitment to preparing faithful workers continues to bear fruit across Central & Eastern Europe, and Central & Northern Asia.

As the ministry of Slavic Gospel Association continues to develop, we are excited to announce the appointment of two new members of staff. Both Junior Hilland and David Anderson bring a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to serving the Lord, and we believe they will greatly enhance our mission in advancing the Gospel and supporting believers in Central & Eastern Europe and Central & Northern Asia.

The book of James reminds us that at the heart of true and authentic faith is a call to care for some of the most vulnerable in our societies. Among them are widows – women who often carry heavy burdens of grief, loneliness, and material hardship.

Thanks to a car recently provided by SGA, the Gospel continues to be proclaimed in Ukraine.
