Grateful and Growing

Graduates of the SGA Mission School in Velingrad are seeing God at work in a Roma community in Chintulovo, Bulgaria.
Chintulovo is a small village in the Sliven region of Eastern Bulgaria. It is home to a Roma community of approximately 1,500 people with many social needs and an area of great spiritual darkness.

Yet, it is also where a vibrant and growing group of believers meet together under the leadership of Sando. He and his wife, Elena, are recent graduates from the SGA Mission School in Velingrad. Speaking of their time at the School, they both expressed their deep gratitude for the time of training which has enabled them to serve God better in their community.

Sando & Elena

“We are grateful to God, and our teachers, for what we have learnt. We loved sharing this teaching with our friends in the church over the years and the church is growing.”

On a recent visit to Chintulovo, SGA staff witnessed the mutual love the church family have one for the other, their interest and love for God’s Word, as well as a clear desire to share the message of the Gospel with others in the village.

However, it was clearly evident their present church building was too small and bigger premises were needed! Together as a church family, and with God’s help, they have now acquired a large site nearby on which plans have been approved for a new church building. Sando shared with vision and passion, ‘We believe this is God’s provision for God’s work. We want even more people to hear about Jesus in Chintulovo. Please pray!’

God is blessing the church in Chintulovo and building His kingdom. Pray that this work will continue to grow and that the light of the Gospel will shine brightly in this needy and spiritually dark place.
