Many of us will have several copies of the Bible on our bookshelves and bedside tables, but not all believers are similarly blessed.
Even if Bibles or portions of the Scriptures are available in areas like Central Asia, for many they remain difficult to access.
This is why Trans World Radio, in association with SGA, produces radio programmes and other forms of media, through which the Gospel can be shared.
One such resource is the Radio Bible Project which is designed to provide biblical teaching to an audience which has limited access to God’s Word.
Transmitted twice weekly, the programme is broadcast to the Kyrgyz speakers living not only in Kyrgyzstan, but also in neighbouring Western China.
This area of China is a highly sensitive part of the world where those in positions of power try to severely restrict the activities of those who make their homes there.Â
Due to restrictions on Christians meeting together, if church members want to gather they need to do so in ways that do not attract the attention of the authorities. So if, while travelling in the area, you’re invited to a birthday celebration, do not be too surprised if you find yourself in a worship service instead!
In a part of the world where men and women are daily being denied their right to religious freedom, the ministry of those who make the Scriptures available over the airways is inevitably considered all the more precious, by those who appreciate how valuable the Word of God is.
Pray that the partnership between SGA and TWR will continue to flourish as we seek to spread the Gospel to the very ends of the earth. Also, pray that the Kyrgyz Bible sets will be completed and published this year.
