Hope in a Centre!

Our Hope Centre celebrated its 10th anniversary in January 2021. The Lord was faithful in keeping us safe. He abundantly blessed our efforts.
The valuable work of the Hope Centres in Central Asia cannot be overestimated! They provide essential services for vulnerable people living in an Islamic context.

There are thirty-two Hope Centres across Central Asia. Ten of these are now under the direction of a local church and financed independently while seven others receive occasional help when required. SGA with their partners in mission are participating regularly in fifteen Hope Centres, offering financial help with running costs and special projects. One of these is in Kazakhstan led by Sergey, a missionary pastor.

During Covid -19 restrictions, he had to forgo some of his ministries but was able to continue with the vital Hope Centre ministry. The blessing of possessing a large building enabled him and his team of helpers to provide a special workshop. Fifteen teenagers were able to be accommodated and participate in the activities.

Sergey reports,

‘First of all, they improved their knowledge of tailoring. Secondly, they learned to serve God with what they had. Many of them prayed and thanked the Lord for the opportunity to be together’. He went on to explain, ‘Our Hope Centre celebrated its 10th anniversary in January 2021. The Lord was faithful in keeping us safe. He abundantly blessed our efforts. He gave us everything we needed, not only so that more people would have their needs met, but also that they would be acquainted with the Word of God’. Sergey finished his report by bearing testimony to the goodness of God. ‘The Lord is good! He has blessed us indeed with a vehicle which will be very helpful in bringing children to and from the Hope Centre. We are very grateful for the prayers and financial support that made it all possible. Praise the Lord!’

Pray for the valuable work carried out in the Hope Centres. God not only uses it to provide essentials for needy people but as a ‘bridge’ to reach Muslims and others with the Gospel!
