An SGA-supported television ministry is bringing biblical teaching to thousands of viewers across Romania through a secular television station. Remarkably, Christian programmes have become some of the channel's most popular broadcasts.
When SGA ministry partner Pastor Mihai Chidesa first became involved, the programmes reached just nine counties in southern Romania. Today, Columna TV broadcasts to 33 counties and is working towards nationwide coverage, enabling biblical teaching to reach many more homes. So valued are the programmes that when growing ministry commitments led the team to consider ending them, the station’s management urged Mihai and his team to continue.
The ministry is also reaching audiences beyond television. Each programme is shared on Facebook, where episodes regularly receive more than 6,000 views within a week and often exceed 10,000 over time. Romanian-speaking viewers in Moldova, Canada, the United States and other countries have also responded, showing how the ministry is reaching the wider Romanian diaspora.
While the audience is growing, Pastor Mihai recognises the need to reach younger generations who are more likely to use platforms such as Instagram and YouTube. He is exploring ways to adapt existing programmes into short-form videos to engage younger audiences with the Gospel.
Please pray that God will continue to open doors for this ministry, expand its reach across Romania and beyond, and give Pastor Mihai and his team wisdom and strength as they share His Word with people of every generation.
