Fuel for Generators

In desperately dark days the world needs beacons of hope and light, and that is what the evangelical churches in Ukraine are seeking to be.
A critical part of SGA’s winter project was supplying fuel for generators, ensuring electricity supply during frequent Russian attacks on Ukraine’s infrastructure.

In desperately dark days the world needs beacons of hope and light, and that is what the evangelical churches in Ukraine are seeking to be.  Over recent months SGA has raised financial support so that the lights stay on when the electricity goes off, that a warm welcome continues to be offered to all who need it, and that church doors remain open for the all-important work of preaching the Gospel.

The “Svoboda” Church in Stari Petrivtsi village in Kyiv region, sincerely thanks all partners for their support in providing fuel for the church’s diesel generator.  The following note of appreciation outlines the blessing that this project provided.

“In this difficult time for Ukraine the enemy is trying to destroy not only our freedom and state but also our entire energy system. Unfortunately, we are also affected by scheduled power outages. This impacts us holding various church services, such as children, youth, Sunday services and other ministries. Thanks to your efforts in providing diesel fuel, we can ensure comfortable and favourable conditions for conducting various services.”

Another pastor in the Cherkasy region expresses his gratitude for the funding received for fuel.

“By using the power generator, we have always been able to hold all church events and also help people come to charge their gadgets and other devices. Every resident of our village knows that the church offers this opportunity, and we gladly welcome everyone.
This has become another chance to talk with people, listen to their pain, and share the Gospel so they may receive the most important thing – Jesus Christ, the Saviour.”

Thank you for keeping the lights on in many churches, enabling them to serve as places of light and hope for this war-torn nation.
