An Amazing Experience!

Among the mission trip group, the consensus seems to be that the day camps in the village of Bogdentsti were one of the highlights of the trip.
A packed programme of events was prepared for a recent mission trip to Northern Moldova. The travelling group, made up of 6 young adults from England, Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland spoke movingly of the Lord’s blessing as they served others and met new people.

A week-long series of day camps in Northern Moldova was supplemented with ministry opportunities in large city churches, and small village fellowships, among widows and Ukrainian refugees. Multiple opportunities were given to participate in meetings, share the Gospel, enjoy fellowship with Moldovan Christians, and learn more about the work of God in this fascinating country. Nevertheless, among the group, the consensus seems to be that the day camps in the village of Bogdentsti were one of the highlights of the trip.

After spending a short time enjoying some of the sights in the capital city of Chisinau, the team eventually made its way to Bogdentsti located very close to the Romanian border in the Northwest of the country.

Here, the team joined with an enthusiastic group of local leaders, and together they ran a successful series of day camps for children and teenagers, the vast majority of whom had no prior connection with the local church. The overall theme of the week was the Bible, and what it teaches about God, mankind, Jesus Christ and salvation.

The UK based team was responsible for most of the teaching which was ably carried out with the help of Moldovan translators who had travelled with them. In addition, they took part in small group discussions, quizzes, crafts and games. The programme was well planned, providing time with the children and teenagers which allowed relationships to grow that were very special and meaningful.

Reflecting over the whole trip, team members summed it up as follows:
‘Going on the mission trip to Moldova was such an amazing experience, and a joy serving alongside the Moldovan Christians.’

Another said, ‘I personally have grown in my faith and believe I have got closer to God. It was an opportunity to tell people about God’s almighty power and I couldn’t be more thankful that I was a part of that.’

We thank God for answering prayer and continue to ask that God’s Spirit will work in the hearts and lives of those the team met so that they will come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
