Camp with a Purpose

Arman is planning a mission trip to a region in western Mongolia to conduct a summer camp and minister to both children and their parents during July.
For many people, summer camp has been a significant tool God has used to influence them through the Gospel and shape their lives. The same is true across Mongolia, where churches and missionary organisations partner together in camp ministry.

During a recent trip, two SGA staff members witnessed firsthand the impact of these camps and heard about the ministry with great warmth and enthusiasm. As camp ministry continues to grow across the country, SGA is excited about the opportunities to share the Gospel with a younger generation of Buddhists who, through their camp experience, encounter genuine Christian faith that can have a lasting impact on their lives.

One region in western Mongolia particularly captured our attention. It is the only predominantly Muslim region in the country. There, Arman*, an SGA-supported missionary serving in Kazakhstan, is reaching out to a Kazakh community of approximately 110,000 people.

During discussions with a Mongolian mission coordinator who organises 12 camps across the country, he shared the great need to reach these Kazakh people with the Gospel. As it was a strong burden on his heart he approached Arman about carrying out camp ministry as it has become an effective way of sharing the Gospel.

This year, Arman is planning a mission trip to this region to conduct a summer camp and minister to both children and their parents during July. He has requested prayer for safe travel and for God to provide a gifted ministry team so that the Gospel can be shared clearly and effectively within this unique cultural setting.

  • Pray for Arman and his team as they travel for over 20 hours to reach their destination.
  • Pray that children and parents attending the camp will be receptive to the Gospel message.
  • Pray for lasting spiritual fruit among the Kazakh community and for opportunities to continue building relationships after the camp concludes.
