the inside story

More challenges for Alexander!

They are praying for a speedy end to the war and the restoration of the House of Prayer.
Previously we shared how an SGA Project70 missionary, Alexander, remained in east Ukraine serving the Lord. He needed a vehicle to help in his ministry and through your support we were able to provide funds.

Now he has experienced more challenges. Alexander sent us the following report.

We thank the Lord and you for your assistance in the development of Christian ministry in the Donetsk region, in particular in the village of Tonenkoe. Since February 2017, God began to form a community of evangelical believers in this village. Little by little people repented, were baptized, and delved into the Word of God. The Lord gave us a good House of Prayer for worship services, Sunday school classes, ladies’ fellowships, and for evangelism of adults and children. Steadily our rural community was replenished with new people. We had plans for the summer months, but 24th February and the events that followed put everything we had been praying about and making preparation for on pause!

Alexander shared how a shell destroyed the second floor of the church building, where Sunday school classes were held. The roof, internal walls and floors of the second level were damaged.

They are praying for a speedy end to the war and the restoration of the House of Prayer.

We believe that after the necessary repairs, the House of Prayer will become even more comfortable and spacious! We ask you for further prayer support for our community and, of course, for prayer for Ukraine!
