Reaching Besieged Cities

Through SGA’s partners within Ukraine, we are endeavouring to provide the physical necessities of life for survival, as well as spiritual food for the soul.
In the worst-affected cities in Ukraine, the shelling and bombardment continue at what seems to be an even more destructive level.

However, the servants of Christ refuse to abandon their ministry of the love of Christ to those suffering so deeply around them. Those who have been forced to re-locate continue where they can, to bring the Word of God and practical support to the needy.

SGA’s 35 national missionary families serving in Ukraine continue to receive much needed financial help. One of our Christian brothers, Oleg, goes to Kharkiv regularly. Like many others, he takes humanitarian aid there, and on his way back he brings people wishing to flee the bombing.

The ministers of the Donetsk region use every opportunity to help refugees escape, and also to deliver humanitarian aid to help the civilians who remain. They make up produce packages to feed the needy. Believers from Pokrovsk bake bread, which helps to save many from starvation.

Food and medicine for people in Mariupol have been transported from Lviv, Lutsk, and other western cities. From the beginning of this war, Mariupol has been under siege. Those remaining in the city are in hiding in shelters and basements from the continuous shelling by Russian invaders.

A team of active and courageous people who did not leave Kyiv, have banded together in a church in the city. Every day they experience blessings and hardships as they distribute food and take opportunities for personal conversations with distressed, traumatized people. The team provides physical, psychological and, most importantly, spiritual support for the victims of the war.
