the inside story

The Victorious Gospel

God is at work in ‘impossible’ situations in Central Asia. Surrounded and outnumbered by an almost exclusively Muslim community, Christian pastors and evangelists are witnessing God breaking into the darkness.
'God is bringing light and salvation through Christ.'

In our last post we shared about Ismoil, a radical Muslim, who was converted and with great enthusiasm began to evangelize. He is an SGA-sponsored missionary in a Central Asian country. Alongside him in the ministry are two other converted Muslims, one of whom is Umar who is leading a small work in which there are nine converted Muslims. Some suffer abandonment by their families, but their new-found faith is real and gives them strength to keep standing for the Lord.

Imran, who is the other missionary partner, ministers about fifty kilometres from the border of a Gospel-resistant country. He has a sports ministry reaching out to teenagers and children. A one-hour Bible study precedes the sports activity. Up to 100 Muslim young people come to the sports events on Tuesdays and Fridays. As many as 35 teenagers and young people come to a Sunday morning worship service. Over the past five years some have been converted to Christ and have been baptized. Recently seven young people professed faith in Christ.

God is at work, making the ‘impossible’ a reality! Pray for these and other SGA-sponsored evangelists in Central Asia.

Through its sponsorship programme SGA is supporting 30 missionary families in Central Asia.
