Mukhabat, whose name means ‘love’, is a woman who displays a great love for her Saviour, Jesus Christ, and for the many children she ministers to.
When she came to faith her pastor gave her a Bible and said, “Read it and tell children about Christ”. For almost 30 years the Lord has blessed her in children’s ministry and through her many have heard the Gospel and been reconciled to God. Today there are church leaders who, as children, attended Sunday School and learned from Mukhabat the way of Salvation.
Mukhabat’s husband is an SGA sponsored missionary in Central Asia. Recently when they arrived to take a children’s meeting, they found the place full of children waiting with their parents. With great excitement the children enjoyed singing the songs and when it came to the Bible lesson everyone listened attentively. Afterwards some of the children repeated a prayer of thanksgiving to God for Jesus the Saviour and asked forgiveness for their sins. As the meeting finished each of the parents received a Gospel calendar.
They both use every opportunity to share their faith. One day, as they were travelling home from Church, they gave a lift to some people and told them of the love of God. They listened with great interest and asked questions. One of them said, “Thank you for speaking about God. Many talk about life and business, but not about God.”
On another occasion, Mukhabat’s husband visited a government official with gifts for his children. The man told him that he had read the Bible he had given him last year and during the visit when Jesus was mentioned he responded, “We also believe in Jesus; He will come again to the earth.”
Pray for Mukhabat and her husband, and that the seeds of the Gospel they sow will bring about a harvest of souls.
