FUELING GOSPEL SERVICE
In desperately dark days the world needs beacons of hope and light. That is what the evangelical churches in Ukraine have continued to be this winter. With the financial support provided by SGA, they have been able to buy fuel for their generators, so ensuring that their lights stayed on when the electricity went off, that a warm welcome continued to be offered to all who needed it, and that church doors remained open for the all-important work of preaching the Gospel.
SGA’s help has been greatly appreciated by many fellowships. The Svoboda Church, near Kyiv, was just one that expressed its gratitude:
‘In this diffcult time for Ukraine the enemy is trying to destroy, not only our freedom and state but also our entire energy system … scheduled power outages impacted our ability to hold church services, run our youth programmes and various other ministries. Thanks to your efforts in providing diesel fuel, we have enjoyed comfortable and favourable conditions for conducting various services.’
‘By using the power generator, we have been able to hold all our church events and enabled people to charge their various devices too. Every resident of our village knows that the church offers this service and it has become another chance to talk with people and share with them the Gospel.’
