Feeding the Spiritually Hungry

The trauma of war has driven many to seek God and His saving grace in Christ.
The massive outpouring of sympathy and love for Ukrainian war refugees has been deeply moving.

Thousands of tons of food, unending lorryloads of clothing, heating aids and other practical helps have been distributed to those in need. People have been sustained physically and materially, and many lives have been saved through this humanitarian help.

Reports from Ukraine tell of another, deeper need – a widespread spiritual hunger, comparable only to that of the immediate post-communist era, when there was a powerful spiritual movement.

The demand for Bibles has greatly multiplied since the Russian invasion of February 2022 – more than two and a half times the total distributed in all of 2020. The trauma of war has driven many to seek God and His saving grace in Christ.

SGA has been deeply involved in putting God’s Word into as many homes and hands as possible: 60,000 Bible sets, (children’s Bible and an adult edition) have been printed and distributed.

In the last six months a Christian literature factory in West Ukraine, supported by SGA, has printed 100,000 New Testaments for adults, 100,000 New Testaments for children, and 300,000 various pieces of Christian literature, as well as 50,000 pocket-sized Gospel booklets, prepared for distribution to the Ukrainian military.

Caring for body and soul

Praise God that His Word has been put in the hands of many who are living close to violence and death. Pray that through reading and believing the inspired Word of the living God, they will be saved.
