Leadership Support
This aspect of SGA’s ministry is pervasive, from the provision of practical needs such as transport and church buildings, to the invaluable, individual support offered to missionaries and their families.
War-threatened ministries in Ukraine are being maintained. 120 missionaries were supported for some months while they either re-located to other places or returned to locations from which they had been displaced.
Additional missionaries have been added to SGA’s support project:
IN SERBIA: Aurel, a graduate of SGA’s Mission School programme, is a painter by profession but deeply committed to Gospel work. Voluntarily he ministered in the church in Jasenovo, and has been involved in a church plant in Kusic.
He is married, has 3 children, and is now commencing full-time ministry with support from SGA.
IN UKRAINE: Ruslan Verbitskij is a member of “Grace” church, Starobelsk (Lugansk). He is an earnest, active believer, constantly looking for opportunities to be useful in ministry. He served as a youth leader and was well respected. He ministered in the village of Kuryachevka with the aim of planting a new church, but has been forced out of the region due to occupying Russian forces.
He has relocated to Svalyava (Zakarpattia region) in Western Ukraine, and is now working with the churches there, ministering to displaced children and teenagers in the area.
Camp Ministry
It is encouraging and thrilling to report on a packed programme of camps and camp ministry to children, young people, and adult groups. For the first time in several years, programmes which had been severely curtailed or cancelled because of Covid-19, have been reinstated. In various locations in Poland, Romania, and in Central Asia a full summer programme was possible, with thousands of young people hearing the Gospel story.
Some camps are of particular note.
BALTI, MOLDOVA – Bethany Camp had a full summer programme. The excellent facilities near to the city which SGA help to support financially, have proved to be a first-rate resource for the sharing of the Gospel with people of all ages. ‘Day Camps’ in a number of villages have also proved spiritually valuable.
UKRAINE – In a number of locations in Ukraine, despite the hostilities, churches organized week-long ‘Day Camps’ for children and young people. SGA supported this venture financially, convinced that these are precious opportunities to reach a generation of young people caught up in a war atmosphere, with the message of Gospel peace in Jesus.
MONGOLIA – Summer camps have been organized in seven regions of Mongolia, with the support of SGA and our partners in Bibel-Mission. This is a thrilling extension of SGA’s interest and involvement in this needy country.
Bible Project
Praise God that despite the turbulence of the last year SGA and its partner Bibel-Mission have provided Bibles and Children’s Bibles:
10,000 sets in the Tajik language
10,000 sets in the Uzbek language
10,000 sets in the Kazakh language
35,000* sets in the Russian language
* 10.000 sets for Central Asia
The provision of an initial 30,000 sets in the Ukrainian language is underway, with the possibility of future additional sets, perhaps totalling 100,000.
Pray that the Word of Life will bring eternal life to many.
Far East Russia
How is Gospel ministry progressing in this region, given the war situation in which Russia is involved?
Reports from Christian workers indicate that there has been no interruption to their ministries. Their outreach and Gospel initiatives, including those spearheaded by the two aeroplanes in the aviation ministry, are being carried on as usual.
We praise God for this and ask you to continue to pray for the protection of the missionaries and God’s people in that vast region.
And Finally
God’s special grace to the Wejherowo church.
Pastor Chris Osiecki reports the Lord’s extraordinary blessings for the church in Wejherowo, Poland. He brought a buyer for land the church had been trying to sell for more than a year. He also provided unexpectedly a large sum of money. Then the owner of the property sought by the church, lowered the sale price! This combination of the Lord’s doings means that with SGA’s help they can purchase the property outright.
Praise the Lord for His wonderful special provision.
