A Box of Joy, A Message of Hope

With a population of over 80 million, the republics of Central Asia are largely unevangelised. Evangelicals are estimated to make up around 0.1% in this largely Islamic or pagan part of the world. For more than thirty years, SGA has partnered with local organisations and churches to provide vital support to families in need and share with them the message of the Bible.

In this needy region, SGA partners closely with Bible Mission in the Joy of Christmas project. Each year, thousands of children receive a personal gift box that tells the Christmas story – often the only gift they’ll receive.

Each box contains small toys, sweets, and a copy of God’s Word in the child’s own language. As families gather, they also hear the message of God’s love and the birth of His Son Jesus – the greatest gift of all.

Seryozha

Pastors and teachers share many moving stories, including that of Seryozha, a boy living in squalid conditions with a mother who was often drunk. When teachers visited, they discovered that the contents of his Christmas box were all he had to eat. But God has been at work — now 15, Seryozha has found hope in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and his life has been transformed by the greatest Gift of all.

Each Joy of Christmas gift costs just £10. Churches, families, and children across the UK and Ireland are helping bring joy and the Gospel to thousands more in Central Asia. Will you join them?
