SGA to Sasha
Why is the SGA support necessary?
Sasha to SGA
We have a difficult situation in Moldova. Many leave to get jobs in other countries. If SGA did not support pastors, many would leave and could not continue in ministry. SGA’s support means they can devote more time to ministry. I travel a lot and the SGA support helps me buy fuel and maintain my car.

How did your ministry start?
Sasha to SGA
I was the first believer in Frunze where I live. I started to preach, and several people wanted to hear more so I held a Bible study for them. Some of them repented and were baptized and we began to meet regularly. I became pastor of this church, a student at the SGA mission school, and had a demanding job in a sugar factory.
God opened the door for evangelism in a village called Ocnitsa and I planted a church there. After this I was invited to be pastor at a church in Bogdanesti, 85km from my home. The sugar factory closed, and I worked with my father as a plumber. This took up a lot of my time. That was when SGA’s support started.

You have recently started ministry in two more villages. Tell us about this.
Sasha to SGA
Lenkautsy and Verezhany are neighbouring villages. There are many poor people with physical and spiritual needs. I made contact with the mayor, and he helped organize meetings in the schools, where we distributed Christmas presents.
After this the mayor accompanied me as I visited poor families with food parcels. They were very open to hear the Gospel. The Orthodox priest has tried to oppose our ministry and influence the mayor but, so far, the work has been able to continue. We hold meetings in the local cultural centre. We are not sure how much longer we will be able to do this, so we are currently looking for a house to purchase where we can meet.

Have there been any encouragements?
Sasha to SGA
Last summer we had a day camp and 110 children attended. This camp was sponsored by SGA. At the end of the day there was a special meeting for children and parents. This was a big blessing and they have requested more camps next year.
Poor families are open to hearing the Gospel and I have started to meet regularly in one home where three families live. My vision is that people will repent, and churches will be planted in these villages also.
Prayer
Pray that the Lord will sustain Sasha in his extensive ministry.
