Through the ‘Joy of Christmas Project’ gifts are provided for those living in the remotest parts and highest mountain ranges in Central Asia. Toys, sweets, children’s books, and Bibles are packed into specially prepared boxes which illustrate the Christmas story.
In areas where there are no churches, in Arab settlements, and among many people groups, the Joy of Christmas programme offers amazing Gospel opportunities, such as these:
In a remote village in Central Asia, a man who listened to a radio broadcast was deeply touched. He and his wife gathered about 50 children, along with their parents, for the Christmas programme. Many of the children in this village had never seen so many sweets, and it was a great event.
A 7 year old boy was finding life so difficult without his dad, who had to travel to another country for work. The young boy lives with other family members in a place close to a troubled country. He had never received a Christmas gift or heard of this amazing story of the Saviour’s birth.
All over Central Asia, children and parents heard the presentation of the Christmas story for the first time.
Joy of Christmas offers wonderful God-given opportunities to take the message of the Gospel to unreached families, often from Muslim communities. This year, we plan to take the programme to 10,000 children and their families. Each box filled with food, toys and children’s books will cost £10.
“This is the first time in my life when I received a gift, and especially, on the day Jesus was born!”
