Training That Transforms

The training and equipping of national believers have long been central to SGA’s work, which is why four Mission Schools are currently being run in Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania, and Poland. Each school provides rigorous theological training as it seeks to prepare new church leaders to faithfully handle God’s Word, for it is by its Spirit-empowered proclamation that the church of Jesus Christ grows.

In addition to these schools, SGA is also partnering with a number of other theological institutes and seminaries, not only in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, but now in Siberia and Mongolia too.

One such institute is led by Dr Paul Negrut, a long-term friend of SGA. He was prepared for his current role through years of secret biblical studies in the forested Romanian mountains, out of sight of the ever-watchful authorities during the repressive 1980s. Dr Negrut is now President of Emanuel University, Oradea, which opened its doors in September 1990, following the fall of communism.

He describes this acclaimed educational establishment as ‘a living example of this biblical truth: investing in ministry is a testament of God’s grace and sovereignty that brings forth a harvest of spiritual growth and transformed lives.’

Dr Negrut is grateful for SGA’s involvement with Emanuel University, noting that this support has borne real fruit in the form of more than 3,000 graduates who are currently serving Christ in 43 countries around the world.

Praise God for how the Gospel is being taken to the very ends of the earth!
