According to news outlets, Ukraine has experienced another weekend of aerial bombardment including drones and missiles leaving a trail of destruction and death. Many regions including the capital city Kyiv were targeted.
Today families are grieving the loss of loved ones. Last weekend a faithful servant of the Lord, Skumatov Leonid Stepanovych, whom Derek Maxwell met on the frontline a few years ago was seriously wounded while providing humanitarian aid to vulnerable people. While medics did all they could to preserve his life, Leonid died as a result of his injuries.
Due to the dangerous environment close to the frontline friends had to bury his body in his backyard while his family were far away. He had sent his wife and children to a safe place while he continued to serve His Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Today he is with the One that he loved. His life’s work has ended!
Pray that his family will be comforted and strengthened as they come to terms with their great loss.
Pray for SGA sponsored missionaries who are still serving in very dangerous conditions.
May the Lord protect them and use them for His glory.
