A new programme designed especially for those who serve people with visual impairments has been established in Odessa Theological Seminary, Ukraine.
Ukraine has experienced a significant increase in the number of visually impaired people, and unfortunately the number is growing due to the harsh realities of war.
Last year, the leadership of the Ukrainian-based mission, ‘Hope for the Blind’, proposed the idea of training volunteers who carry out ministry to the blind. They turned to OTS to create a special academic programme for them. While some students have completed their one-year certificate programme, they have developed an appetite for study, and so the training has been extended.
OTS is thrilled to have the opportunity to offer educational resources to meet their needs and is planning to launch a diploma programme for them. They hope that this programme will be a useful tool for Christians called to serve visually impaired people. It is amazing to hear the stories of some of the students about how God has been working in their lives and is now using them to achieve His purposes.Â
