Hope on the Road

Thanks to a car recently provided by SGA, the Gospel continues to be proclaimed in Ukraine.

The day after receiving his vehicle, Pastor Yuri Maslov drove many miles to a city which remains under constant Russian attack. There he delivered food aid and generators to military personnel, narrowly avoiding injury when a drone fell just 50 metres away from him. By God’s grace he was unharmed, and as he made the dangerous journey back home, he was greatly encouraged to receive many heartfelt messages of appreciation from the soldiers he had ministered to.

However, there was more encouragement to follow, when later that day, a deacon at Yuri’s church shared his testimony with those same soldiers by video call. All listened attentively, and some were moved to tears, as they heard how he had come to faith in Christ.

The car also helped to launch ‘Give the Light of Hope’, a children’s ministry through which individuals help make the dreams of children come true, by providing them with a much-wanted gift. Thanks to the car, 280 presents were delivered this Christmas – each one bringing great joy to the children and their families.

Local children and teenagers have also benefitted, as the car is used to transport them to Christmas shows, youth conferences and the regular children’s clubs that take place at Yuri’s church.

Yuri is grateful to God for His wonderful provision through SGA, that is enabling the advancement of the Gospel.
