Hope for the Blind

Since 2022, and the outbreak of hostilities, there has been a significant increase in the number of people, both soldiers and civilians who have lost their sight due to injuries from missiles and explosions.

Much has already been shared about Odessa Theological Seminary, and the preparing of church leaders, pastors and evangelists for ministry in Ukraine.  However, there is a growing awareness of the need to minister to those with visual impairments within the country.  Since 2022, and the outbreak of hostilities, there has been a significant increase in the number of people, both soldiers and civilians who have lost their sight due to injuries from missiles and explosions.

A collaboration has commenced between OTS and a Christian organisation “Hope for the blind” with the aim of training competent leaders to teach and share the Gospel with visually impaired people.  A one-year certificate programme has been launched and students will attend five one-week sessions of lectures and seminars before completing assignments including practical work under the guidance of local ministers.  In January this year, 15 students commenced their studies beginning with Bible Survey and Personal Evangelism courses.

 Please pray:
  • That this will be a useful tool for Christians willing to serve these precious souls in need.
  • For OTS to be enabled to provide excellent training for Christians involved in this ministry
  • For the 15 students who are willing to serve in this way.
