Faithfully Serving!

The lesson we have learned from believers in Eastern Europe is that the Lord’s interests must always come first.
I was deeply touched by comments made at the funeral service of Trevor Harris [former SGA General Director] a few months ago. We heard how his father instilled two Godly influences in the life of his son, teaching him firstly, to have a love for the Word of God and secondly, for the work of God. We would do well to exert the same influences on our children and children’s children.

Alexander Balagansky serves in Far East Russia, in a region close to Mongolia. The Lord has given him a burden for two people groups, both of whom are Mongolian in origin. He continues to serve and pastor the church he has planted among the Buryat people, an officially unreached group with little Gospel witness.

I am from the city of Kamianske. I live with my mom, dad and sister. My family goes to church. This summer I had the opportunity to get to the camp. Shelling has become commonplace for us, but sometimes it becomes very scary. In the camp, using the example of the Biblical hero Joseph, I am sure that God hears me through prayers and is always there to help me. It makes me feel better. Now I know how to pray. I want to thank all the teachers. I really liked it. Thank you!

As we followed the invasion and war in Ukraine, we could not help but observe the selfless, devoted service of our brothers and sisters as they faithfully served their Lord and Saviour.

Even during uncertainty, trials, and horrific conditions they did not waver from their commitment to the Word of God and the work of God. It was obvious that they were under huge pressure, but their priority remained – to faithfully serve.

Believers in these islands have provided finance to enable their brothers and sisters in Eastern Europe to reach out with compassion and assistance.

Thank you for remembering Ukraine!
