Camps on the frontline

The church is now just 18 kilometres from the frontline, yet the Lord keeps His hand over this ministry.
Camps provide an environment where the Gospel is introduced to children, teenagers and others in a unique atmosphere. This is an especially effective means of reaching people who have never previously encountered the Gospel message.

In a recent report from Viktor Kostenko, Ukraine, the challenges of carrying out camp ministry on the frontline of war were outlined.

Due to the ongoing security risks, we are not able to gather large groups of children — each time we host around 30–40 kids. Despite the dangers, we clearly see God’s mercy and protection. The church is now just 18 kilometres from the frontline, yet the Lord keeps His hand over this ministry.

He went on to express his appreciation for the financial help so that he and his team are enabled to provide this special ministry. He asks for prayer that the team and children will be kept safe and that each child’s heart will be touched by the Gospel.

At each meeting, we study stories from the Bible, pray together, play games, and spend time talking and connecting. Most importantly, we share about the living hope in Christ. For many of these children, this is the first and only chance to hear about God’s love. It is dangerous and sometimes frightening, but we see God at work. We cannot stay silent when young hearts are open to the Gospel.

Pray for Viktor and his team as they dedicate themselves to this vital ministry.
