Another widow helped!

I no longer wanted to leave the Church because I felt Christ's love through the brothers and sisters.
Within the framework of the Widows’ Project, support for physical health and spiritual assistance was provided to many affected by the war.

Among the most painful consequences of the Russian war in Ukraine is the growing number of widows and orphans. Since the official statistics on the number of soldiers who died at war in Ukraine are not made public, we can only speculate how many young women have lost their loved ones at war.

How many families, parents, children, relatives have suddenly lost someone they loved and cherished. We are thankful that through SGA’s Widows’ project many families have received the care and love they deserve.  However, there are also the older women who, through natural causes, are bereft of their husbands.

Homeniuk Mariya Viktorivna, a seventy-year-old widow living in the town of Sonyachne, Odessa region, shares her story:

“In the autumn of 2022, the village council announced that humanitarian aid would be distributed in Vygoda for low-income and large families. We were brought by bus to the Baptist Church in Vygoda, where the Word of God was preached before the distribution of humanitarian aid. I no longer wanted to leave that Church because I felt Christ's love through the brothers and sisters. Since I am a widow, I have received various kinds of assistance many times, including firewood, clothing, food, and medicine. When I suffered a stroke in August 2024, the Church helped me financially and with medication. In all of this, I see God's hand and His care for me through the love of the brothers and sisters.”

Thank you for making it possible for Homeniuk Mariya Viktorivna to receive her vital supplies.
