A weekend not to be missed!
While we celebrate a special milestone of 75 years of ministry, this SGA Residential Conference will be the 60th! Two years ago a young adult focus was introduced into the conference programme.
We felt it would be helpful to get the reflections of some who attended, so two brothers, Nathan and Joshua MacDonald, have contributed the following:
The SGA conference has become a highlight of our year. The youth programme introduced in recent years has helped build strong fellowship among younger attenders, and we’ve connected with great Christian friends we still keep in touch with. These sessions have also broadened our perspective on mission.
The youth programme’s more relaxed format encourages deeper engagement, allowing us to explore topics of particular interest and follow up with thoughtful Q&A sessions. We especially enjoy these times with guest speakers—hearing about their walk with the Lord and how they apply biblical truths in daily life is both practical and encouraging.
One quote that stuck with me (Nathan) came from Bill Bygroves: “Do the natural things spiritually, and do the spiritual things naturally.” That continues to challenge me—not just to include the Bible in life, but to let it shape everything I do.
The weekend schedule allows us to enjoy both the youth sessions and the main meetings, where we benefit from Bible teaching and Mission updates. Mealtimes provide a chance to hear from long-time SGA supporters who share our heart for Gospel work. Their stories, encouragement, and prayers mean a lot to us. We’ve built lasting relationships, and we look forward to reconnecting again this year!
