For many, Christian summer camps have had a huge influence on their lives. A week of concentrated Bible teaching, prayer and Godly influence has impacted many over the years.
As a Mission we are passionate about reaching the younger generation for Jesus Christ. We seek to do this through our partnership in camp ministry in Moldova, Ukraine, Central Asia and Mongolia.
We are delighted to share news of exciting developments in Mongolia. There were only four known believers there in 1989, but God has been working in that land. We praise God that unreached young people are hearing the Gospel through four SGA-sponsored Christian camps this summer which will accommodate 400 children. Training provided by believers from Siberia will enable local volunteers (50 – 60 people) to carry out follow-up work with the children and their families after the camp.
SGA-sponsored missionaries in Ukraine are providing camps for children who face uncertainty and traumatic circumstances. House-parents of Grace Shelter orphans in Odessa will organize a camp in western Ukraine where they will be safe and secure. Children are overwhelmed with regular drone and missile attacks on Odessa and other cities. They do need recovery time. Pray that young lives will experience emotional healing and spiritual encounters with God.
Camp ministries offer a respite and retreat for children, young adults, and families whose lives are often plagued by neglect, poverty, and heartbreak due to a poor economy and high emigration. This summer teams have organized day camps in Moldovan villages where SGA-sponsored missionaries serve.
Summer camps in Central Asia are a time of brilliant fun and often provide lifelong memories and friendships for children. Day and residential camps plus English camps are being held across different countries. These are wonderful Gospel opportunities where the majority attending are from a Muslim background. Pray that many families will be reached with the Gospel.
