This summer SGA sent a team of eight to Romania to share the Gospel and demonstrate the love of God to people in need.
 Working alongside local believers, the team led children’s clubs held in rural churches in the villages of Bazna and Seica, and a further outreach event to children in the as yet unchurched village of Blajel.
SGA-supported Jonatan Moldovan is the pastor of the recently reopened Maranatha Church in Bazna. It celebrated its first baptisms at a service at which the team were privileged to take part in during their visit. They were also especially delighted when their prayers were answered and the husband of Marela, one of those being baptised, was present at the service despite him being opposed to her faith and having previously said he would not attend.
However, it wasn’t just the children that the team were pleased to share the Gospel with. They also took part in a couple of youth events, a ladies’ meeting, and even an English lesson. On each occasion, through the singing of songs, the sharing of testimonies, and the opening of God’s word, the good news of Jesus Christ was joyfully and clearly made known.
There was also time to visit some of those more vulnerable individuals for whom God has a particular concern – widows, in both Bazna and nearby Medias – taking with them, not just food parcels, but the even greater encouragement that comes through fellowship, prayer, and the hope of the Gospel.
It was a genuinely blessed time for all those involved and the team left with many happy memories and a real desire to pray for the ongoing ministry in this beautiful part of the world.
