The church in Bazna, Romania has struggled in difficult circumstances. The work has suffered greatly, and the building itself is now in very poor condition.
The Betel Church in Medias, just ten miles away, has a more than 40-year association with SGA, and is currently pastored by Daniel Cioban, a long-standing friend of the Mission.
For some time the congregation at Betel has been supporting the believers in Bazna, and recently God has provided a man to lead the work there. Ionatan Moldovan, from Bazna itself, is a gifted preacher, enthusiastic about Gospel work, and passionate about rebuilding the church.
Local believers are carrying out extensive renovations which include replacing the leaking roof and building a room for children’s ministry. It is hoped that under Ionatan’s leadership, a revitalised church in Bazna will become a centre from which three nearby villages, Blăjel, Velț, and Boian, can be reached with the Gospel.
Ionatan has submitted a request for support as part of the expansion programme in SGA’s 75th Anniversary year.
Pray for Ionatan as he serves the Lord in Bazna. Pray too for Pastor Daniel’s wife, Emma, as she commences new treatment for her cancer and other related health issues.
