With the ever-increasing death toll comes an ever-increasing number of widows, many with young children, who desperately require help.
Their need is something the churches in Ukraine know well, not least because they are numbered among those who make up their congregations.Â
With their sorrow comes an opportunity to serve others as they share how their faith has sustained them through their loss. But not all widows are the same. Unlike those whose military husbands have been buried, women whose husbands are missing and only presumed dead do not receive any state-funded aid. Currently, with around 30,000 Ukrainians unaccounted for as a result of the war, they constitute a large group of individuals in real need of assistance. Assistance SGA is happy to help provide.

The churches in Ukraine seek to show love to these poor women in other ways too – providing opportunities for them to meet and share their experiences, organizing activities for their children to enjoy, and even taking them on short retreats where they minister to their bodies, and through Bible teaching, to their souls too.
Pray that these women will continue to receive the love and care they need, especially at Christmas when family is very precious.
