Reaching Kherson!

The last clinic was in Kherson where the front line was only a few kilometres away. During the whole time that we were receiving patients, we constantly heard the explosion of shells. But, despite this, people in need of help came to us in a continuous stream.
Sergey Shalinskiy, a graduate from Balti Mission School, Moldova, is serving the Lord in Mohyliv-Podilskiy, a large town in Ukraine on the border with Moldova. In his recent ministry report he shared about the SGA-funded medical team’s response to the Ukraine crisis.

Sergey, who is an SGA-sponsored missionary pastor, is also a qualified nurse. His input into the medical ministry is invaluable.

‘The last clinic was in Kherson where the front line was only a few kilometres away. During the whole time that we were receiving patients, we constantly heard the explosion of shells. But, despite this, people in need of help came to us in a continuous stream.’

Pray that Sergey and his team will be kept safe as they travel close to the frontline of the war. While they are providing for the physical, they also minister to the souls of many people.

The need for medical help continues to be pressing. SGA’s Regional Coordinator for Moldova, Pastor Peter Mihalchiuk, sent an urgent request for help as he plans to visit Kherson city. He outlined the need for medical help, as there are no working hospitals in the city now. He wants to organize another medical trip to Kherson. It is hoped that 450 people will receive medication and food.

He went on to point out that ‘the greatest need is transport for believers to church. People who had cars have left the city, so church members now do not have transport. There are many old and ill people still in their homes who need help. While they cannot go to church, they need someone to bring them water and food.’

The senior pastor, Sergei Synii, who is very ill, wants to help people in nearby villages but there is no transport. A suitable secondhand car with a big boot would be a wonderful blessing to the church in Kherson.

I am pleased to inform you that SGA will cover all costs incurred above. Thank you for making this possible!
