In a recent interview with SGA, Pastor Igor Bandura, Vice-President of the Baptist Union of Ukraine, urged believers to keep praying for pastors who continue serving faithfully during the war.
He described how pastors, strengthened by the Holy Spirit, stand before their congregations each Sunday with words of encouragement, support, and hope. Despite immense pressure and uncertainty, they remain with their churches and continue ministering to people in need.
Igor also highlighted the great encouragement of more than 1,200 new pastors and deacons having been ordained during the four years of war. Many of them are young men who have answered God’s call and are not afraid to step into the responsibility of ministry.
On a personal level, the war has also impacted his own family with his son-in-law Dennis being conscripted. Igor shared how he has formed a small group of pastors whose sons are in military service, creating a circle of mutual support where they can call one another, pray together, and carry the emotional burden together. This fellowship reflects the sustaining strength of shared faith and pastoral care for one another.
Pray that God will strengthen and uphold the pastors of Ukraine as they faithfully shepherd His people and proclaim the gospel of Christ.
