The vision at ABI has always been to “teach all the nations… teaching them to observe all that I have commanded” (Mat. 28:19-20).
During a recent visit to Ireland, Pastor Yuriy Skurydin emphasised the important fact that in partnership with SGA, “ABI serves its students from throughout Central Asia by providing quality, Bible-based, theological education for a successful and fruitful ministry.” Training is currently provided through Diploma, Bachelor, Masters, and Post-Graduate programmes in Christian Leadership, Teacher Training, Youth and Music ministry. Since its early beginnings over 1,000 students have graduated from ABI and currently there are 234 students enrolled. SGA’s partnership with ABI goes much further than the training. Sponsorship is also provided for students, and also for graduates which allows them to immediately become involved in fruitful ministries. This support programme is currently helping 14 graduates and their families in Central Asia. One of these is Sergey Rybalov who is now serving in Eastern Kazakhstan. As well as planting a new church in the region and seeing many coming to Jesus, Sergey is overseeing the building of a House of Prayer and a Bible School for this region of Kazakhstan which will enable others to be trained for ministry. The value of long-term partnership can never be underestimated despite the obvious challenges in this region. Yuriy concludes:“As we pray, teach, train, support and serve together, great things are done for God’s kingdom and for His glory… so, let’s keep ‘moving forward together’.”
