The responsibility of caring for “Widows and Orphans” comes from the Scriptures themselves and SGA has always taken this requirement seriously. The last 2 years of conflict in Ukraine has seen the number of widows grow in the most tragic way.
Pastor Semenyuk has commenced a new project for widows with small children whose husbands died in this war. 10 widows came to their first meeting in Boryspil, held in March. He writes.
“God loves each one of us. There are so many times when God is telling us to do something, and when we are obedient to Him, we can clearly see His hand upon lives of people”.
One woman who was receiving aid came to Pastor Semenyuk to talk. She seemed to be far from God. During the conversation it emerged that she could not believe God would forgive her for something she had done many years ago. Pastor Semenyuk was able to reassure her that God is indeed able to forgive all our sin, whereupon she repented and accepted Jesus Christ into her life.
Through SGA Widows’ project, conflict widows continue to receive vital help through local churches. Pray that the seed of the Gospel would be planted in many hearts and many more souls won for Christ.
