Heat in the chill of war!

The following account illustrates what your generous investment in prayer and practical help has achieved.
Coal for village stoves in the east of Ukraine is a huge blessing in the current circumstances.

Among those who are helping the needy is SGA’s sponsored missionary, Oleksandr [Alexander] Radin. He has been serving people in the villages of the Donetsk region since 2019. These territories are near the frontline of the war, near Avdiyivka, which is 3-5 km from the front line.

At the beginning of the full-scale offensive, Alexander moved to Myrnograd, a city located in a relatively safe area, and a convenient base for the delivery of aid to frontline settlements.

Every week, volunteers from evangelical churches visit front-line settlements to support and help those who remain in circumstances of great difficulty and constant danger. Recently, ten tons of coal, a vital resource for survival in these villages, was delivered to local residents.

For almost a year the locals have been living without electricity, gas and water. Fortunately, many have stoves that allow them to remain warm in their homes fuelled by the coal that Alexander was able to provide. It is hoped that other villagers will also receive coal to burn in their stoves.

Pastor Alexander helping distribute the coal delivery
Pray for Alexander as he stays in this very volatile region, seeking to provide for extremely needy people.

He has been at the centre of distributing SGA-funded food boxes which contain Bibles and Gospel literature. With the bus that SGA helped to purchase, Alexander has been transporting people to safe places and delivering much needed food supplies.

One of his church buildings was damaged by a missile. Hopefully, it will be repaired soon so that people can be together to worship the God Whom they love and serve.

Pray that Alexander and all our missionary families will be kept safe, and that through their witness people will be converted.
