A recent update from the Odessa Theological Seminary (OTS) speaks of a plan to plant 1000 urban churches by 2036 in Ukraine. To do this in times of peace is ambitious for any country, but in a time of intense warfare, this is truly incredible.
With God we learn to expect the unexpected because His purposes are sure and cannot be thwarted by the evil schemes of man. Humanly speaking, to plant churches in urban areas which are under attack is not wise, but the Baptist Union of Ukraine recognise the great need of churches as more and more people are coming to Christ.
Already dozens of churches have been planted in the past two years since hostilities began. Pastor Igor Bandura says, “We keep this vision, and we hope and pray that God would give success in the Gospel in Ukraine”.
SGA is supporting OTS, where a new programme for Church planters has been launched.
Please pray that God will raise up more and more men, willing to serve as ministers and pastors in Ukraine.
