“So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
These are the words engraved on a large plaque hanging squarely on the wall of the kitchen in Casa Filip in Cluj, Romania. A space so filled with Christian love it feels as though you could reach out and touch it. Love for Christ and for people has defined Casa Filip since its beginning in 2018. The project’s founder, Violeta Goron, calls this place “a house of miracles”, and as we listened to her stories of God’s faithfulness and provision over the last 7 years, we understood why.
Since the opening of a second building in 2023, God has enabled Violeta and her team of six staff plus volunteers to provide accommodation for over 1000 cancer patients who have come to Cluj for treatment.
Equipped with a beautiful communal living and kitchen area and 7 ensuite rooms spread over several floors, Casa Filip provides much more than bright, peaceful surroundings. It’s a place where the love of Christ is truly shown, and where those who experience it are pointed to the true source of love – the Lord Jesus.
In using Casa Filip as a platform for Gospel witness, Violeta and her team are a daily reflection of the love of Christ in action.
