Children of Grace Shelter

Grace Shelter was established in 2000 to provide a home for orphaned children in Odessa, Ukraine.

When hostilities broke out in 2022, the children were temporarily moved to Germany but in early 2023 they returned to Ukraine. The house parents seek to care for these precious children under extremely challenging circumstances. Olesya Krohinov, who oversees this ministry has written the following update:

“The good news is that we are alive. Despite the constant shelling by the Russian army, the Lord preserved our lives. Unfortunately, shelling is carried out constantly, 7-8 air attacks per day, these include missiles and suicide bombers. All the attacks that come from Crimea to the whole of Ukraine come through the sea and our houses. The children constantly cannot sleep. Sleeping for 2 hours is not good for children. They continue to study; we have two 11th grade graduates – Polina and Diana. They are preparing to enter universities. Please pray for God’s guidance in choosing a profession. This year all our children will already be schoolchildren; there are no more children under 6 years old.

Elisha is still in the hospital since winter 2023. Unfortunately, her treatment is not yet productive, and she cannot be discharged from the hospital. The chances of survival are not great, please pray for her. (Elisha has tuberculosis). We remember you all in our prayers, we embrace you with our prayers. With love and gratitude”.

Please remember these children and their house parents as they seek to be “salt and light” in these dark times for the country of Ukraine. Daily, they are experiencing things that no child should ever have to face.
