A combination of poor living conditions, low state pensions, and freezing winter temperatures make life very challenging for widows trying to survive in Central & Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Through the support of faithful partners, SGA has provided financial assistance to many needy widows, helping with basic needs, even their daily bread.
We are delighted to report that up to two thousand widows have received vital support during this winter in Poland, Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine and the countries of Central Asia. They are very grateful for all the help they receive through this project.
We are pleased to be able to share responses from four widows who received support in Serbia.

I'm very grateful for this support. It's so good to have a family in Christ who cares for widows' condition. This money will be used for medication I need mostly at this time. May God bless you!

I'm a recent widow, and went through a hard time, losing my husband, who unfortunately was not a believer. Besides, I have health problems. However, your help is much more than money. It's an encouragement to me that God is near to those with broken hearts. Thank you for your loving care, and God bless you always!

who is over 85 years old and is financially very poor, is mostly confined to bed: How great is our God. I just prayed the Lord to take care of my needs especially in providing medicine which I use a lot, and your support came on the same day! I'm praising God and thank Him for you. This gift meant to me beyond what I can express. May God bless you and take care of your needs too!

Bosiljka Vukmanović
I'm praising my God who always cares for my needs. This year again I've got help through Christians who showed again their loving care for elderly widows, and I'm among them. I put my hand on my heart as a symbol that my gratitude is from the bottom of my heart to the Lord and to the donors! Your gift I'm using for medicine and hygienic items.
We thank the Lord that through this project, widows will have a more comfortable and enjoyable winter as loving, caring people in the UK and Ireland share their blessings.Â
Many of them are our sisters in the Lord, part of our ‘family’ in Christ, and you have been supplying their needs (daily bread), and so ‘caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy’ [Job 13:29]. Â
