While sirens could be heard, rockets flying, and electricity outages during the week of camp led by Pastor Yuri Melni in Ukraine, the programme continued unhindered.
Parents allowed their children to attend the camp. There, the children forgot about the horrors of war as they played happily, listened to Bible lessons, and sang Christian songs, which brought peace and harmony to their broken hearts. A woman named Sveta, whose three children attended camp, shared the following sentiments with the leaders.
‘Thank you for giving my children a break, a time full of happiness and joy in this vast sea of fear and chaos.’
Pastor Yuri finished his report by saying, ‘We shall be eagerly waiting for the next year and a new camp for these suffering children. We lift up in prayers of thanksgiving all the people who donated to bring joy to our children! May God bless you abundantly.’ Â
The evangelistic ministry in Christian day camps is continuing with much blessing. SGA support offered unique opportunities to hundreds of children to attend these camps, hear the Word of God and bring the Good News to their families.
