the inside story

A Heart Awakened in Central Asia

Niara prayed, “Jesus, if You really exist… please forgive me.”
In a quiet home in Central Asia, God used a simple children’s Bible to change a young girl’s life forever.

Niara’s early childhood had been marked by pain and hardship. When her family received a children’s Bible, they began reading it together – turning pages filled with bright illustrations and simple, powerful stories. At first it was just a book they shared as a family. But one evening, as Niara read on her own, something extraordinary happened.

The stories of Jesus – His compassion for the broken, His healing touch, His love for the rejected – began to speak directly to her heart. Then she came to the story of the cross. In that moment she understood: “This is about me. I am a sinner. But He still loves me.”

That night Niara prayed a simple but life-changing prayer: “Jesus, if You really exist… please forgive me.”

Today, Niara reads the full Bible, faithfully attends church, and continues to grow in her walk with the Lord. Looking back, she says, “It all started with a book that I opened seemingly by chance. But I’ve realised there are no accidents. Through a simple children’s Bible, God Himself spoke to me and now I belong to Him.”

We praise God for the way He is using His Word to draw hearts to Himself.

Through SGA’s 75th Anniversary Bible Project, family Bibles and full Bibles are reaching into many homes like Niara’s. We also rejoice that the Kazakh Bible translation is now complete and ready for printing.

Together with our mission partners, we pray that God’s Word will reach not only hands, but hearts, across the nations of Central Asia – and that many more, like Niara, will be transformed by the saving power of Christ.

Thank you for helping place the Gospel into the hands of those who are waiting to hear.
