While travelling through Central Asia recently, an SGA team had the opportunity to meet with widows who are helped through the Mission’s generous supporters.
Tatyanna lives in her sparsely furnished second-floor apartment. It has worn floors and bare walls, and she survives without basic amenities. She must negotiate stairs and cross a road to a shed in which there is a dry toilet.
Life is very difficult as she struggles with high blood pressure. While the team was visiting and talking to her, there was a sudden air of excitement and Tatyanna beamed with delight. A lorry had arrived with a load of coal and firewood for the winter. This was made possible through funding from the SGA Widows’ Project.
Tatyanna with her pastor, Ivan
With a radiant face she sat in her humble surroundings sharing about her conversion to Christ a few years ago. She is very thankful for her church family who offer her assistance, but most of all she deeply appreciates the care offered by the pastor. She is involved in church ministry where she helps by cooking meals for children who attend summer day camps.
None of Tatyanna’s family are believers. It is her prayerful desire that they would come to faith in Jesus Christ.
Thank you for making Tatyanna’s heart sing for Joy [Job 29:13].
Through your faithful support we are able to reach out and provide essential supplies for hundreds, even thousands of widows this winter. We say ‘thank you’ from your sisters in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
