Blessings in Serbia & Romania

It is wonderful to hear about Gospel advance as our partners faithfully serve the Lord.
Recently Avram Dega, Serbia, shared about a baptism service in Vrsac Church. Five people came to faith in Christ. Avram writes:

‘One lady is not in the public picture because of the opposition, (even persecution I can say) that she has primarily from her own family! Praise God for the new converts, but especially for this young person missing in the picture.’

Pastor Avram with the baptismal candidates

There are 3 young people who responded to the Gospel invitation to accept Christ as Saviour. In a couple of months’ time they will also be baptized. What a joy! Avram finished his report by expressing his gratitude.

‘Thank you for staying alongside me as a servant for Christ. Thanks for prayers and financial support. You are so faithful in doing this and I’m so grateful!’

Pastor Teofil Mihoc [Jibou, Romania], who has been instrumental in planting several village churches in the areas around Jibou, reported an evangelistic event where many had the opportunity to hear the Gospel, and praises God for those who repented.

He wrote of a baptism service in his church.

‘We had the opportunity to rejoice with 11 people who were baptised on 28th May 2023. Five of them were youth from our church, including Emi, our son. That church service had the biggest attendance in the Jibou church! The sanctuary, basement, and prayer room were packed while others stayed in the church yard to hear the Gospel.’

Pastor Teofil & family

Teofil has also been elected as General Secretary to the Romanian Baptist Convention which consists of 1,800 churches and hundreds of pastors. He is very aware of his huge responsibility, but considers it a great opportunity to influence many churches to continue planting new churches and revive small ones.
