Through the support of faithful partners, SGA has provided financial assistance to thousands of needy widows, helping with basic needs, even daily bread.
Gulnora, whose husband died 10 years ago has been a recipient. Last summer she had a serious heart attack. She was in a coma, in intensive care for 2 days, and also developed Covid-19 while she was in hospital.
Now she can’t walk very far, and doctors have forbidden her to work. She was desperately wondering how she could provide for herself and her children, when she clearly heard the voice of God speaking to her heart: “My crows will feed you, just like they once took care of Elijah. I won’t leave you!”. She replied, “My strength is in the Lord! He’s my shield!”
When the brothers and sisters visited Gulnora and brought some help, she began to cry and said: “Thank you, Lord, that You are faithful in fulfilling Your promises!”
We desire to help many widows like Gulnora this winter. Especially challenging is the growing number of widows in Ukraine due to the high death rate of husbands in the war. Together with God’s help we can ‘make the widows heart to sing for joy.’ [Job29:13]
