Trans World Radio Central Asian Director describes current ministry for us. ‘We have huge wealth in our hands, and we pass it on to all people, not only through radio waves, but also through MP3 players and micro-USB sticks with 4 gigabytes of memory. Not only can people hear the downloaded programmes through the MP3 player, but also radio programmes.’
TWR teams show everyone who receive these devices how to use them. These gadgets are reaching people who live far away in inaccessible altitudes, 5000m above sea level.
In addition, SGA’s Partner in Mission has ordered and received new compact radio receivers so that the programmes can be available at any time. This is how the number of listeners is increasing. We rejoice that God is allowing us with our partners to proclaim His name through media ministry.
It is reported that people have become very hungry for the Word of God in Kyrgyzstan. One of the teams explained this eagerness to have God’s Word.
‘I even cried and thanked God as I gave people radios and was trying to set the radio channels for them, making them ready to listen. One of our older sisters said, “For me the most important thing is that this radio has as many programmes as possible. I need these words when I’m outside all day long with my sheep.”
Many others were interested to have radios and flash cards with programmes because they live in the villages that are far from churches. They said it would be great to have God’s Word uploaded to hear any time they need it.’
When we see and hear that people are listening to the Word of God, feeding their souls, and turning to God, we praise Him for this great work! We are reminded in Romans 10:17 that ‘…faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God’.
Kazakh cities – A group of brothers decided to share the Gospel in Kazakh cities and villages. They requested pre-recorded programmes for distribution. Recently we heard that in one of the cities to which they travelled a church was born. This is amazing news!
