A NEW DAY DAWNED – A NEW MISSION WAS LAUNCHED!

Let us give thanks to the Lord for this special day in the life of Slavic Gospel Association [UK]! The Mission celebrates 70 years of missionary service today!

The UK branch was launched in 1950, sixteen years after the Mission was founded in the USA by a Russian immigrant, Peter Deyneka.

As a teenager Peter was moved as he heard fellow-Russians preaching the Gospel in the open air in Chicago. He began to attend Moody Church and, through the preaching of Pastor Paul Rader, was brought to know Christ as his Saviour.

He was gripped by the desire to share his faith with his fellow-countrymen and this led him to undertake the first of many transatlantic journeys back to Russia, to preach the Gospel.

On 27 July 1950, in the Bonnington Hotel, London, Peter met with a group of spiritually motivated and committed Christian businessmen, and SGA[UK] was established.

Peter’s daughter, Ruth, was present as an observer. She now fondly recalls the event with great affection. Please watch the brief video.

It is with gratitude that I remember my predecessors who have faithfully served as General Directors [Hebrews 6:10].

Join with us in praising God for:

  • His faithful provision in so many ways. For my predecessors who enthusiastically served the Lord.
  • All the ministry partners who pray earnestly and give sacrificially. God has answered prayer abundantly and multiplied financial contributions. Thank you for your encouragement and partnership in the Gospel. We are very grateful.
  • Project70 [70th anniversary project FIELD] that the Lord continues to provide for. Sixty-two missionary families have been identified for support – thirty nine have either full or partial sponsorship.
  • Project70 [Networking 70 new churches] where over fifty new churches have come onboard to partner with the Mission.
We’ll praise Him for all that is past; and trust Him for all that’s to come.
