Since the 1970s SGA has been involved in the teaching and training of Christian leaders. Over these years the value of such training has been evident time and again. The lack of such leaders can prove a major hindrance to growth and potentially the cause of theological confusion among God’s people. For this reason one of our major commitments at present is the training of national believers for the work of the Gospel.

This training is done in Bible Schools organized at the request of local Church leaders. SGA commits to cover the expenses of each School and in this way a theological education is open to gifted Christian workers who would otherwise not be able to afford it. The results of such training can be seen in the many new churches and ministries that have been initiated by graduates of these Schools throughout Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Each Bible School is run on a part-time basis and is organized by a local Christian leader who is also responsible for the pastoral care of the students. Before the Bible School starts, a properly constructed curriculum is agreed with national church leaders which covers three main areas of study - Biblical and Doctrinal Studies, Mission and Evangelism, and Preaching and Pastoral Ministry. These initial discussions are important as SGA always tries to address the specific needs of the local situation.

Students-in-lectures

Students

All students who attend the School must be recommended by their local church leaders and be committed to completion of the programme of study. Throughout the study period they are required to complete a number of different assignments and if they reach the required standard they graduate with a diploma.

Students come from a wide variety of backgrounds but are united in their desire to serve their Lord and to reach people with the Gospel. The following examples demonstrate what God does with such men and women.

Serghi Shalinski

Serghey Shalinsky - Ukraine

Serghey is a graduate from our Bible School in Balti, Moldova and is serving the Lord as a pastor in Ukraine. He is a gifted preacher with a passion for the Gospel and is involved in an extensive evangelistic programme over a wide area. This has resulted in more churches being planted and a number of young men studying in the Bible School.

Mark Siphos - Hungary

Mark is a graduate of the SGA Bible School in Biscke, and is pastor of a church plant among students in the university city of Szeged. He is involved in a new church planting programme for Hungary and has a vision to plant more churches in the towns and villages surrounding Szeged. Mark also helps in the organization of an SGA Bible School.

Mark and Chilla Sipos
Timotei Corches

Timotei Corches - Romania

Timotei is a graduate from our Bible School in Medias and has planted 3 churches in remote villages. He is a faithful worker with a pastor’s heart and through his ministry people have been converted and the churches have become firmly established. In addition, Timotei has a burden for children and youth ministries.

These men illustrate that an investment in training national Christian leaders is an investment in future Gospel ministry. Currently we have hundreds of pastors, youth workers, evangelists, village preachers and other Christian workers in training. We ask you to join with us as we equip the next generation of Gospel leaders in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Will you support this vital ministry?
