Giving Help to Bible Students
Supporting National Believers by Helping Them to Become Fully Equipped for Ministry Among Their Own People
“After I was saved, I believed that God was calling me to serve the Lord and I knew I needed training if I was to be useful for Him. I was accepted as a student at the Evangelical Seminary in Osijek, Croatia. I have just finished my first year and I know that God has blessed me during this period! I have always dreamed of preaching, and I’m hoping that when I finish the Bible School training I’ll be able to preach and hopefully become a Pastor of a church back in Serbia! I know God has a plan for me and He will use me in His service!”

SGA currently helps to sponsor a number of students, like Nathan (Romania) studying in the UK, Zlasko (Serbia) studying in Croatia and Daniel(Serbia) studying in Timisoara, Romania.
HELP IN THE PAST
For many years SGA financed students with potential for leadership, to come to the UK for one year of specialised training, while the ministry was developing in their own countries. Today much of our support is directed to help students in newly-formed, in-country Bible Schools where we are involved in lay training. For many years some have been involved in ministry and the preaching God’s Word, but have not had recognised theological training. bibles
HELP NOW
Today however, key workers are being helped to develop their gifts through progressive study and specialised theological training, either in the UK or locally in-country, where some recognised training facilities now exist. Those who come to the UK usually come on a part-time basis for lectures and research and then continue the given programme by extension from their home environment. This enables the individual concerned to continue the home-end ministry at the same time. We have been encouraged to see those who have graduated with Master’s Degrees and Doctorates, return home to use their gifts and experience to train and equip others to preach the Gospel. Our goal is to see those with a heart for the ministry relate the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in a relevant way in their own culture.
HELP THROUGH BIBLE STUDENT SPONSORSHIP
Currently SGA sponsors a number of students engaged in further theological study at:
- The Bulgarian Evangelical Theological Institute, Sofia
- The Evangelical Seminary, Osijek, Croatia
- Emanuel Christian University, Oradea, Romania
- Emanuel Institute in Timisoara, Romania
- The Irish Baptist College, UK.
SGA also sponsors many students in Central Asia through the Independent Bible Correspondence School in Kazakhstan, where each student seeks to complete the five courses necessary to fulfil the programme and become equipped for serving the church in the local community.
